Suncheon-si, Early Payment of Public Interest Allowance for Farmers and Fishermen
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it plans to fully prepay the "Public Interest Allowance for Farmers and Fishermen," which provides 600,000 KRW annually to farmers and fishermen to promote sustainable agricultural development and enhance public and ecological values, in Suncheon Love Gift Certificates through local agricultural cooperatives starting from the 29th.
Suncheon City has advanced the payment schedule for the retroactive portion of the second half of 2019 and the 2020 payments to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19. The total amount to be paid this time is 11.4 billion KRW.
Since this is the first year the program is being implemented, additional applications will be accepted from the 20th of this month until the 11th of next month for farmers and fishermen who were unaware and thus did not apply.

Farm households that did not apply must visit the administrative welfare center of their jurisdictional eup, myeon, or dong to consult about eligibility requirements and then apply.
