On the 17th, Gyeongnam Province announced in a COVID-19 response briefing that a 22-year-old male resident of Changwon tested positive.
The man entered Nonsan Training Center on the 13th, received an inconclusive result from a test conducted by the training center on the 15th, and was confirmed positive after a retest on the 16th, leading to his discharge. He is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment at Masan Medical Center, with no reported symptoms or underlying conditions.
A provincial official stated, "Along with investigating the man’s movements and contacts, we have requested GPS records from the police to conduct epidemiological investigations and quarantine measures," adding, "Contacts within the training center are being managed internally by the military authorities."
