Bucheon City to Distribute Temporary Living Support Funds for Low-Income Households via Bucheon Pay Starting from the 27th of This Month
Total Support Fund of 11.47 Billion Won... Lump-Sum Payment for 4 Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province will provide a total of 11.47 billion KRW in temporary living support funds to 19,223 low-income households experiencing economic difficulties due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), starting from the 27th, paid through Bucheon Pay.
The recipients are basic livelihood security recipients and legally designated lower-income groups. They can receive the funds by bringing their ID and visiting the administrative welfare center or resident support center in their area of residence to complete a simple application process.
It is principle that the head of the household (the recipient of welfare benefit payment account) receives the payment directly, but if the elderly or disabled have difficulty moving, a legal representative can receive it on their behalf. Spouses or children registered together on the resident registration or direct lineal ascendants or descendants listed on the family relation certificate can submit a power of attorney with their ID along with the recipient's and representative's IDs.
However, until the 8th of next month, to participate in social distancing and prevent congestion, the payment will be made using the same 5-day rotation system (day-of-week system) applied to public mask purchases.
Based on the last digit of the household head’s birth year: ▲Monday for 1 and 6 ▲Tuesday for 2 and 7 ▲Wednesday for 3 and 8 ▲Thursday for 4 and 9 ▲Friday for 5 and 0, recipients should visit the administrative welfare center or resident support center in their jurisdiction on the corresponding day.
At the time of application, four months’ worth of payment will be made at once. Among basic livelihood security recipients, those receiving livelihood benefits, medical benefits, or facility benefits can receive 520,000 KRW for a single-person household, 880,000 KRW for a two-person household, 1,140,000 KRW for a three-person household, and 1,400,000 KRW for a four-person household.
Recipients of housing benefits, education benefits, and lower-income groups can receive 400,000 KRW for a single-person household, 680,000 KRW for a two-person household, 880,000 KRW for a three-person household, and 1,080,000 KRW for a four-person household.
