Jungnang-gu, Recruiting New Subscribers for Passenger Car Mileage Program
For Non-Commercial Passenger Cars Registered in Seoul with 12 or Fewer Seats, Multiple Owned Vehicles Can Be Enrolled... Earned Mileage Can Be Exchanged for Mobile Gift Certificates, Used for Local Tax Payments, or Converted to Cash
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryoo Kyung-gi) is recruiting new subscribers for the 2020 Passenger Car Mileage program to reduce fine dust, improve air quality, and save energy.
The eligible participants are non-commercial passenger cars registered in Seoul with 12 seats or fewer, and individuals can register multiple vehicles they own.
Applicants can sign up online at the Passenger Car Mileage website (driving-mileage.seoul.go.kr) or visit the Jungnang-gu Office Traffic Administration Division or nearby community service centers.
The existing Seoul Passenger Car Day-Off System is scheduled to be completely abolished in July, so participants in the day-off system must join the Passenger Car Mileage program to receive benefits for reducing vehicle operation.
The Passenger Car Mileage program compares the initial cumulative mileage with the final cumulative mileage after one year, and rewards are given if actual reduction is achieved. Based on the reduction rate and amount, points are awarded differentially from 20,000 points for a 0~10% or 0~1000km reduction up to 70,000 points for more than 30% or 3000km reduction.
Earned points can be exchanged for mobile gift certificates on the Passenger Car Mileage website or used to pay local taxes via Seoul ETAX (etax.seoul.go.kr) or converted to cash. Donations for desertification prevention tree planting are also possible.
For inquiries, contact the Jungnang-gu Office Traffic Administration Division, Seoul Dasan Call Center (☎120), or refer to the Passenger Car Mileage website.
