Gwangju Shinsegae Supports Flower Farmers Affected by COVID-19 Impact
Tulip Purchase... Customer Gift Event Underway
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongho Shin] Gwangju Shinsegae Co., Ltd. (CEO Donghoon Lee) is actively working to provide a small boost to flower farms struggling due to COVID-19.
Gwangju Shinsegae announced on the 16th that from the 17th to the 19th, it will hold an event where customers who purchase over 10,000 KRW using a Shinsegae Card will receive a limited daily gift of 100 tulip pots.
Until the 26th, a photo zone will also be set up in the central passage on the first floor.
This event, planned to help flower farms in Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, was organized to alleviate some of the difficulties faced by farms by encouraging the purchase of tulip flowers.
Sinan-gun holds a tulip festival every April, but it was canceled due to COVID-19. Furthermore, due to concerns about tourists coming to see the flowers, 1 million tulip flowers were removed on the 8th, causing even greater distress to the flower farms.
Donghoon Lee, CEO of Gwangju Shinsegae, said, “We organized this event to purchase tulips and provide photo zones and flower pots on the first floor to offer even a small support to flower farms struggling from decreased sales.”
