A Woman in Her 40s from Busan Confirmed with COVID-19 After Entering Japan

According to Busan City on the 16th, out of 418 COVID-19 diagnostic tests conducted from the previous day until 10 a.m. on the same day, one person tested positive, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 127.
The additional confirmed case is Busan patient number 127 (41-year-old female, Dongnae-gu), who reportedly stayed in Tokyo, Japan from February 1st to the 13th of this month before returning to Korea. She is the 25th confirmed case in the Busan area among overseas entrants.
This patient departed from Narita Airport, Japan at 5:20 p.m. on the 14th, arrived at Incheon Airport at 8 p.m., then took a KTX exclusive car from Gwangmyeong Station and arrived at Busan Station on the morning of the 15th. She was tested at the Busan Station screening clinic and confirmed positive.
After returning home, Busan City reported that the family members were either out or at work, so there was no contact.
Busan City and quarantine authorities are conducting an epidemiological investigation to determine the exact entry route, movement path, contacts, and any special circumstances of this confirmed case.

Accordingly, including patient number 127, the total number of overseas-imported confirmed cases in Busan has increased to 25. The number of patients receiving inpatient treatment is 17 (28 including 11 patients transferred to other regions). On the other hand, no community infections have occurred for 24 days since Busan patient number 107 on the 23rd of last month.
