Police Request Arrest Warrant for Woman Who Caused the Death of Her 4-Month-Old Son
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The police have applied for an arrest warrant for a woman who caused the death of her 4-month-old son.
On the 16th, the Seongdong Police Station in Seoul announced that they had applied for an arrest warrant for Ms. A on charges of murder.
According to the police, Ms. A initially reported to 119 at 5:55 p.m. on the 14th that "I was doing the dishes and when I came back, the child was dead" at her home in Seongdong-gu. Afterwards, her husband informed the police of this fact.
However, the police found suspicious points in Ms. A's statement and when questioned about the cause of death, she eventually admitted to the crime. During the police investigation, Ms. A reportedly stated that “the child had a developmental disability and I was worried that he would live as a disabled person even as an adult, which led me to commit the crime.”
