Apple to Use 'Product Red' Proceeds to Combat COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] Apple has decided to use a portion of the sales proceeds from its RED products, including the iPhone SE Red Edition launching at the end of this month, to help overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to IT media The Verge on the 15th (local time), Apple will donate the sales proceeds collected through 'Product Red' until the end of September to the COVID-19 related fund of the international organization 'The Global Fund.' This includes Apple accessories such as Apple Watch and iPhone cases, as well as the Red Edition of the iPhone SE launching on the 24th.
'Product Red' is a partnership that major companies such as Apple, Nike, and Starbucks have continued to raise funds and improve awareness for the eradication of diseases like AIDS and tuberculosis. However, with the recent global spread of COVID-19, they have shifted their efforts to respond to this issue.
