[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] At around 5:28 PM on the 14th, a fire broke out in the state-owned forest in Jadeung-ri, Seomyeon, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon Province, and the forestry authorities are currently extinguishing it.
The forestry authorities and Cheorwon-gun deployed two firefighting helicopters, but after sunset, the helicopters returned, making firefighting efforts difficult.
At the site, 132 wildfire suppression personnel who were extinguishing the fire have come down to the foot of the mountain due to the rough terrain and smoke, focusing on preventing the fire from spreading.
