[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Two personnel related to the U.S. military base in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, tested positive for COVID-19 on the 14th.
Pyeongtaek City announced that a man in his 40s with U.S. nationality, Mr. A, residing inside Camp Humphreys (K-6) U.S. military base, and a woman in her 40s with U.S. nationality, Ms. B, from Paengseong-eup, tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day.
Mr. A is an employee of a subcontractor within K-6 and is known to work at the same workplace as the 24th and 35th confirmed cases. The 35th confirmed case was diagnosed after contact with the owner of a wine bar near Osan Air Base (the 19th confirmed case), and the 24th confirmed case was diagnosed after contact with a confirmed case managed by the U.S. military.
Because Mr. A had contact with different confirmed cases, it is difficult to trace the infection route.
