Candidate Kim Myung-jin Promotes Separate Sewer and Stormwater Pipes to Eliminate Odor in Gwangjucheon
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Kim Myung-jin, the Minsaengdang candidate for the National Assembly in Seo-gu Gap, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 14th that he will promote the construction of separate sewage and stormwater drainage pipes throughout Gwangjucheon to eliminate the chronic foul odor problem.
Candidate Kim Myung-jin said, "The biggest cause of the foul odor in Gwangjucheon is the inflow of sewage," adding, "The inflowing sewage is trapped by weirs, and the sediments in the water accumulate on the riverbed, causing the foul smell."
He continued, "Especially during rainy weather, stormwater blocks the sewage pipes, causing both stormwater and sewage to flow directly into Gwangjucheon," and stated, "By implementing separate sewage and stormwater drainage systems, we will prevent direct sewage inflow into Gwangjucheon and manage it to be clear and clean."
