A Woman in Her 30s Arrested for Stabbing Father with a Weapon Over Allowance Dispute
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] A woman in her 30s who stabbed her father with a weapon for not giving her allowance was arrested by the police.
The Uijeongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 14th that they have detained and are investigating A (30) on suspicion of attempted parricide.
A is accused of stabbing her father B (66) with a weapon at their home in Ganeung-dong, Uijeongbu, around 10:10 PM on the 13th.
It is known that after the crime, A tried to escape to Wonju, Gangwon Province by taxi.
The police secured the taxi's license plate number through analysis of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and requested cooperation from the taxi driver via text message. The taxi driver turned the car around and met with the Uijeongbu police, leading to A's arrest.
According to the police investigation, A committed the crime because her father did not give her allowance well.
