The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 13th that it delivered the "Request for Cooperation Regarding Local Public Institution Recruitment in the COVID-19 Situation" to 876 local governments, including metropolitan and basic local governments, and local public corporations and public enterprises.
This aligns with the Ministry of Economy and Finance's directive on the 9th for 340 national public institutions to maintain their recruitment plans as is under the "Response Measures Guidelines for Public Institution Recruitment in the COVID-19 Situation."
Through the cooperation request, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety asked each local public institution to maintain the originally planned number of new hires at 9,848.
They also decided to provide maximum convenience to applicants who find it difficult to submit official language test scores due to delays caused by COVID-19.
If applicants whose language test scores are about to expire submit their scores in advance to the local public institutions they plan to apply to, the scores will be recognized during document screening this year regardless of the remaining validity period.
Additionally, the deadline for submitting scores required for local public institution applications will be extended as much as possible to allow the use of scores obtained after official language tests resume.
