At the joint election countermeasures committee meeting of the Democratic Party of Korea and the Democratic Citizens' Party held at candidate Kang Tae-woong's election office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, that morning, Lee said, "Looking at past elections, the party that wins in the metropolitan area ultimately wins the election," and "Currently, only about 50 constituencies in the metropolitan area are within the party's safe zone."
He continued, "Most voters have made their decisions, but some seem to be still deliberating various issues until the last moment," and said, "In elections, the person who appeals with earnestness until the very end wins."
