On the same day, Son posted on her Facebook a news article mentioning Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, along with a brief comment: "Now even Chairman Yoo Si-min? You have grown a lot, Yang Jeong-cheol."
Earlier, at a policy agreement ceremony with Democratic Party candidate So Byeong-cheol (Suncheon, Gwangyang, Gokseong, Gurye Gap) held in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, Yang commented on Yoo Si-min's remark about the possibility of "180 seats for the pro-government coalition," saying, "Recently, people outside the party who boast as if we have already won and predict the number of seats should be suspected of having ulterior motives."
In political circles, this was analyzed as Yang issuing a public warning to Chairman Yoo. It was also interpreted as a concern that Yoo’s remarks, who has supported the Open Democratic Party, might cause pro-government coalition supporters who expected a landslide victory for the ruling party to shift their proportional representation votes toward the Open Democratic Party.
There was a public criticism from the ruling party. On the same day, Lee Nak-yeon, co-chairman of the Democratic Party’s joint election countermeasures committee, criticized Yoo’s remarks during a campaign in Gugidong, Jongno, Seoul, saying, "People inside the Democratic Party, and sometimes those outside, tend to prematurely predict election results. It is much better to be cautious about such things."
