Early Voting Rate for General Election at 26.69%... Record High of 11.74 Million Participants (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] The National Election Commission announced on the 11th that the early voting rate for the 21st general election was recorded at 26.69%.
This is the highest cumulative turnout over the two days of the 10th and 11th since early voting was introduced in the 2014 local elections. The previous highest was 26.06% during the 2017 presidential election.
Out of 43,994,247 eligible voters, 11,742,677 participated in early voting, which began at 6 a.m. the previous day.
By region, among the 17 cities and provinces nationwide, Jeonnam had the highest turnout at 35.77%. Jeonbuk recorded 34.75%, Sejong 32.37%, Gwangju 32.18%, Gangwon 28.75%, Gyeongbuk 28.7%, Gyeongnam 27.59%, Seoul 27.29%, Chungbuk 26.71%, and Daejeon 26.93%.

Following were Ulsan at 25.97%, Busan 25.52%, Chungnam 25.31%, Incheon 24.73%, Jeju 24.65%, and Gyeonggi 23.88%. The region with the lowest turnout was Daegu, recording 23.56%.
