[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 10th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a spokesperson's comment regarding the report released by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Investigation and Identification Team (IIT) on Syrian chemical weapons, stating that "it is important to identify those who used chemical weapons and hold them accountable."
In the spokesperson's comment, attention was drawn to the initial report submitted by the OPCW IIT to the OPCW Executive Council, stating, "The use of chemical weapons is a threat to international peace and security and is unacceptable under any circumstances, regardless of time or place."
It added, "We support OPCW's thorough investigative efforts and will continue to closely cooperate with the international community to achieve the complete elimination of chemical weapons."
