Kim Jong-in: "No fairness found in the appointment process of Cho Kuk... Only words about justice and fairness"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-in, the General Election Committee Chairman of the Future United Party, criticized the Moon administration, saying that there was no fairness to be found in the appointment process of former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk, stating, "They verbally shout justice and fairness, but in their actual actions, they are people who do not even know what justice and fairness are."
On the 10th, at a campaign rally supporting a candidate in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, Chairman Kim said, "These (government) people lack the ability to manage the country."
He added, "People who lack ability also have no sense of shame. Therefore, they cannot properly understand what needs to be done and are only busy with government propaganda," and questioned, "First, they took control of the media, and then the judiciary. What reason would a decent person have to control the media and judiciary?"
Chairman Kim pointed out, "These people verbally shout justice and fairness, but in their actual actions, they do not know what justice is, nor what fairness is," and said, "They are the kind of people who, fearing their own wrongdoing, think of ways to somehow remove our Prosecutor General who is trying hard to uphold the law." This was aimed at President Moon Jae-in’s inauguration speech where he said, 'The process will be fair, and the outcome will be just.'
He criticized, "Looking at the process of appointing a person named Cho Kuk as Minister of Justice, there is no trace of the fairness that President Moon talks about," and pointed out, "People who are currently on trial and under indictment are trying inappropriately to remove someone who is striving to preserve democracy in the Republic of Korea."
Regarding the Moon administration’s achievements over the past three years, he also criticized, "They really created a situation that our country has 'never experienced before.' They made a country where the people are very anxious," and said, "The most concerning thing is the economy."
Regarding the response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), he said, "They only boast about handling it and fell into the illusion that this coronavirus would somehow cover up their mistakes," and pointed out, "Despite the Korean economy being almost at a standstill due to the coronavirus, they show no measures on how to overcome this or how to achieve economic stability for the people in this situation."

He also criticized the lack of measures for self-employed business owners. Chairman Kim said, "Countries like the United States and European countries, which are experiencing the coronavirus much later than us, have governments actively stepping in, mobilizing finances, and immediately providing direct financial support to stabilize the lives of their people and maintain struggling businesses," and said, "Even though small business owners, self-employed people, and many workers engaged in these sectors feel their livelihoods threatened, the government has not properly presented any plans on how to rescue them."
