T'way Airlines to Launch First Regular Direct Flight Next Summer
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] T'way Air announced on the 10th that it will operate a charter flight to transport Korean nationals residing in Kyrgyzstan. This charter flight was arranged at the request of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kyrgyzstan due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), in consultation with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
According to T'way Air, the charter flight TW9601 departed Incheon Airport at 7 a.m. on the same day and arrived in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The return flight TW9602 is scheduled to arrive at Incheon Airport around 8:20 p.m. on the 11th. Approximately 150 Korean residents are expected to board this charter flight and return to Korea.
Kyrgyzstan currently has no direct flight routes from Korea. In February, T'way Air was allocated rights to operate twice weekly flights and plans to launch the first regular direct flight route by a domestic airline in the summer of 2021.
