35-Year-Old Woman in Gangnam-gu Reconfirmed with COVID-19 After 15 Days
[Asia Economy Reporter Jonggil Lee] A patient who tested positive again for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has been reported for the first time in Seoul. According to Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on the 9th, a 35-year-old woman (Gangnam-gu case No. 8, Seoul case No. 86, nationwide case No. 3616) was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the 1st of last month and was hospitalized for treatment, then discharged on the 26th of last month. While maintaining self-quarantine, she experienced abnormal symptoms and was tested again on the 7th, receiving a positive diagnosis again that morning.
This is the first time a Seoul autonomous district has publicly disclosed a case of re-positivity after the release from quarantine of a patient within its jurisdiction. According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of midnight on that day, seventy-four patients nationwide were confirmed to have tested positive again after being released from quarantine. It is not known whether patients from Seoul are included in this count.

The re-positive patient from Gangnam-gu was working at a real estate brokerage firm in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, at the time of the initial outbreak. On February 18, she had a business meeting and dinner with a 35-year-old man (Gwanak-gu case No. 3, Seoul case No. 63, nationwide case No. 2466), and began experiencing symptoms about a week later. The Gwanak-gu case No. 3 patient, whose home is in Seonghyeon-dong, Gwanak-gu, was tested on February 27 in Gangnam-gu, where his workplace is located, and was confirmed positive the next day. A 51-year-old woman (Gangnam-gu case No. 9, Seoul case No. 93, nationwide case No. 4517) and a 54-year-old man (Seocho-gu case No. 5, Seoul case No. 98, nationwide case No. 4743), who worked in the annex office of the same real estate brokerage firm as the Gangnam-gu patient, were confirmed positive on the 2nd of last month. Both have since been released from quarantine and discharged.
