Jungnang-gu Orders Suspension of Operations for About 120 Entertainment Venues Including Danranjujeom
Business suspension orders issued for about 120 locations until April 19... Posting of entry restriction notices at entertainment venue entrances and display of user restraint banners
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Recently, cases of COVID-19 infections at entertainment facilities have emerged, raising concerns about the risk of infection through the use of these venues.
In particular, entertainment facilities are enclosed spaces where the nature of the business involves close contact, increasing the possibility of mass infections, and managing entrants is difficult, making the spread of COVID-19 even more worrisome.
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has issued a business suspension order until April 19 for about 120 entertainment facilities, including karaoke bars, in accordance with the strengthened second phase of social distancing measures to block COVID-19.
Along with this, on the 9th, in collaboration with the Jungnang Police Station, 10 inspection teams composed of pairs were formed to conduct intensive on-site inspections, deliver orders, and post notices restricting entry. From the 10th to the 19th, compliance inspections will be carried out to prevent the spread of infections through the use of entertainment facilities within the district.
As a result of the inspections, business owners and facility users who do not comply with the closure orders will face legal action, and in the event of confirmed COVID-19 cases, claims for compensation for medical and quarantine expenses will also be pursued.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “As the social distancing period lengthens, residents are expected to feel fatigued. However, social distancing is still urgently needed.” He added, “We ask for the active cooperation of entertainment facility operators and for residents to refrain from visiting these venues.”
