Korea Forest Service "Establishing a Permanent Communication Channel with the Public"... Recruiting '365 National Evaluation Mentor Group'
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Forest Service is publicly recruiting members for the ‘365 National Evaluation Mentor Group.’ The 365 National Evaluation Mentor Group is the new name for the National Mentor Group introduced and operated last year, reflecting the Korea Forest Service’s commitment to maintaining a continuous communication channel.
The Korea Forest Service announced on the 9th that it will publicly recruit members for the 365 National Evaluation Mentor Group (hereafter Mentor Group) until the 22nd.
The recruitment target is 99 members, and when added to the 266 members selected for the first National Mentor Group last year, the total number of participants this year will increase to 365. The number of members was increased in line with the changed name (National Mentor Group → 365 National Evaluation Mentor Group).
The number of recruits by region is divided as follows: 16 in the Gangwon area, 28 in the Gyeongsang area, 22 in the Chungcheong area, and 33 in the Jeolla area (including Jeju). This year, residents of the metropolitan area will not be recruited to ensure balanced regional participation.
This measure was taken considering that among the 266 members of the Mentor Group selected and active last year, 127 members (48% of the total) reside in the metropolitan area.
The selected Mentor Group members will participate in major policy projects and innovation activities promoted by the Korea Forest Service in the future.
The main activities include participating in policy proposals, competitions, and contests in five areas: Planning and Coordination, International Forest Cooperation, Forest Industry Policy, Forest Welfare, and Forest Protection. They will also take part in joint public-private policy field inspections and surveys, as well as various performance evaluations.
Any citizen of the Republic of Korea can apply, and detailed information about the application process can be found on the Korea Forest Service website.
The Korea Forest Service will select successful candidates by comprehensively considering applicants’ residence, policy understanding, and willingness to participate in the Mentor Group, and plans to announce the list of successful candidates on the Korea Forest Service website on the 27th. The Mentor Group’s activity period is from the appointment date until December 31 of this year.
