[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] Yeongcheon City, Gyeongbuk announced on the 9th that it will provide 'Child Care Coupons' worth 400,000 KRW per person starting from the 10th to alleviate the burden of child-rearing on citizens caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The provision of Child Care Coupons is part of the government's temporary child-rearing support project, targeting approximately 3,900 children under the age of 7 (born between April 1, 2013, and March 31, 2020) who are currently receiving child allowances as of March 2020.
The coupons are provided as gift cards worth 400,000 KRW and can be received immediately upon application at the administrative welfare centers in the applicant's town, township, or neighborhood.
The cards can be used like cash immediately and, in line with the purpose of revitalizing the local economy and supporting small business owners, can be used at neighborhood marts, traditional markets, beauty salons, and various self-employed businesses. However, usage is restricted at department stores, large marts, online shopping malls, and entertainment establishments.
