A fire broke out on a 9.8-ton coastal multipurpose fishing vessel passing off the coast of Munjung-ri, Ilgwang-myeon, Gijang-gun, Busan, at around 10 a.m. on the 9th.

Upon receiving the report, the Ulsan Coast Guard dispatched three patrol boats and a coastal rescue boat to the scene and quickly rescued the captain, Choi Mo (54), who was alone on the vessel.
The Ulsan Coast Guard confirmed that Choi’s health condition is normal.
Having difficulty extinguishing the fire at sea, the Coast Guard moved the fishing vessel to a nearby port and put out the fire after about an hour.
