Ulsan City Signs Agreement for Relocation and Factory Establishment with Small and Strong Enterprises in '3D Printing Technology'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Ulsan City is focusing on the mass production of 3D printing products through business agreements with small and medium-sized enterprises specializing in 3D printing technology.
On the afternoon of the 9th, Ulsan City announced that Mayor Song Cheol-ho, Lim Seong-gu, CEO of A-One Aerospace Co., Ltd., Kim Seong-wan, Branch Manager of Hexagon Metrology Korea, Jeong Pil-sang, CEO of Glowins Co., Ltd., and about 20 related organization heads attended a 'Business Agreement on Company Relocation and Technical Cooperation' at the city hall situation room.
The agreement includes the relocation and technical cooperation of six small and medium-sized enterprises with technological capabilities from Gyeonggi, Gyeongnam, Gyeongbuk, and Busan, the establishment of a new factory by A-One Aerospace, and the construction of Asia's top-level inspection and calibration center by Hexagon Metrology Korea.
According to the agreement, A-One Aerospace in Sacheon, Gyeongnam, will relocate its headquarters to the Ulsan Techno General Industrial Complex and begin establishing production facilities within this year. Hexagon, headquartered in Sweden, also plans to operate the Ulsan branch and Asia's top-level 3D-related equipment inspection and calibration center within this year.
Glowins, which signed the technical cooperation agreement, is a joint venture established by eight companies possessing specialized technologies in 3D printing, mechanical processing, IoT technology, equipment, and software, providing the nation's first comprehensive solution for manufacturing process development.
These companies plan to establish branches and operate joint offices in the 3D printing venture cluster knowledge industry center, scheduled for completion in October this year, and build a mass production factory for 3D printing products by the end of the year.
Through this agreement, the city aims to establish an organic cooperation system to respond to large-scale demand in the future, prepare industrial application standard guidelines for 3D printing technology, and actively support the advancement of local key industries and the startup of new venture companies.
At the signing ceremony, representatives from Hyundai Motor Company, a demand company, participated and presented cases of mass production of 3D printing products in the automotive industry and their market potential.
