Daegu COVID-19 Recovered Patients Over 4,700, 316 Symptomatic (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Among the approximately 4,700 confirmed COVID-19 patients in Daegu who were declared recovered and released from quarantine, 316 have reported experiencing suspicious symptoms again.
According to Daegu City on the 9th, the city sent preliminary notification texts to 5,001 recovered patients on the 7th and 8th and conducted telephone monitoring regarding the presence of symptoms. Of the total subjects, 4,752, or 95%, responded to the survey, and among them, 316 (6.6%) reported symptoms such as fever and cough.
By type, respiratory symptoms (cough, difficulty breathing, phlegm, etc.) were the most common with 148 cases, followed by fever in 6 cases, other symptoms such as fatigue, headache, and diarrhea in 91 cases, and multiple combined symptoms in 71 cases. The city plans to conduct individual consultations at local health centers for the 316 symptomatic individuals and then carry out diagnostic testing.
Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin said, "If we continue monitoring recovered patients, additional suspected cases will emerge," and added, "In the case of re-positive patients, additional diagnostic tests will also be conducted for their families."

Daegu City has identified 24 cases of re-confirmed COVID-19 among previously confirmed patients in the region after recovery and has decided to conduct mass testing on those released from quarantine.
