Future United Party Hit by 'Controversial Remarks'... "Lee Hae-chan's Remarks Show Democratic Party's Arrogance"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The United Future Party, recently embroiled in controversies over the offensive remarks of its candidates, has criticized the offensive remarks made by Lee Hae-chan, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea.
Hwang Gyu-hwan, the full-time deputy spokesperson of the United Future Party, said in a statement on the 9th, "Leader Lee Hae-chan is spewing offensive remarks about the main opposition party just to gain some votes," criticizing him.
He pointed out, "Yesterday, Leader Lee appeared on a podcast and made offensive remarks toward the main opposition party, the United Future Party, saying, 'What kind of Future Party is the United Future Party? Everything they have done so far is just obstruction and being pro-Japanese collaborators,' and even compared the United Future Party to gangsters by saying, 'In the past, gangsters had tattoos on their arms that said 'Live Kindly,'" he said.
Deputy Spokesperson Hwang said, "He has insulted people with disabilities, women, and regions with offensive remarks, and now he is targeting the main opposition party," adding, "It is truly vulgar and shameless."
He also criticized Yoon Ho-jung, Secretary-General of the Democratic Party of Korea, for his 'Don Quixote' remarks, saying, "A few days ago, Secretary-General Yoon Ho-jung insulted the leader and the election committee chairman of the main opposition party, the United Future Party, as well as the people supporting the United Future Party," and added, "This clearly shows how arrogant and self-righteous the Democratic Party of Korea has become."

It is interpreted that the United Future Party, which has been damaged by the recent offensive remarks controversies involving candidates Kim Dae-ho and Cha Myung-jin, is trying to appeal to voters by highlighting Leader Lee’s offensive remarks as well. On the same day, Kim Jong-in, the overall election committee chairman of the United Future Party, apologized for the offensive remarks controversies of his party’s candidates, saying, "We are truly sorry for disappointing and angering the people."
