An Octogenarian Patient in Gyeongbuk Dies After Being Declared Recovered from COVID-19 (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] An octogenarian COVID-19 patient in Gyeongbuk died nine days after being declared fully recovered.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 9th, A (86, female), who was hospitalized at a local nursing hospital, passed away at 4:15 a.m. the previous day.
A was living at Seorin Nursing Home in Gyeongsan, where a COVID-19 cluster outbreak occurred. She was diagnosed positive on the 2nd of last month and transferred to Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital for treatment.
At the time of initial diagnosis, A was asymptomatic but later showed symptoms such as diarrhea and loss of appetite. She received treatment for pneumonia, phlegm, and diarrhea at the hospital and was declared fully recovered on the 30th of last month.

After being declared recovered and released from isolation, A was admitted to another nursing hospital in Gyeongsan but died nine days later. She had underlying conditions including dementia, heart failure, and hypertension.
