Hampyeong-gun Accepts Applications for 'COVID-19 Emergency Living Expenses' Until the 29th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Acting Governor Na Yunsu) announced on the 7th that it will accept applications for the ‘Jeonnam-type COVID-19 Emergency Living Expenses’ until the 29th of next month.
The ‘Jeonnam-type COVID-19 Emergency Living Expenses,’ jointly funded and supported by Jeollanam-do and Hampyeong-gun, provides emergency living expenses on a differentiated basis according to the number of household members to households with income below 100% of the median income and below the selection criteria amount.
The support scale is about 2.6 billion KRW in total, including 1.5 billion KRW from the county budget, and the county expects that 6,607 households (37%) out of 17,856 households in the region will benefit.
The eligible recipients are households registered as residents in Hampyeong-gun as of the 29th of last month (excluding households that moved out to other cities or provinces before the selection) and whose income is below the selection criteria amount according to the health insurance subscription type set by Jeollanam-do.
For each type, households subscribed only to regional health insurance are assessed based on health insurance premiums only, while households with workplace or mixed workplace and regional health insurance are additionally assessed based on property criteria (below 161.6 million KRW excluding financial assets), excluding relatively wealthier households.
Also, ▲low-income temporary livelihood support recipients (basic livelihood security recipients and legally designated lower-income groups), ▲emergency welfare support recipients, ▲unemployment benefits and job-seeking activity allowance recipients, ▲workers on unpaid leave at affected workplaces, and other overlapping recipients of similar government support related to COVID-19 are excluded from this payment.
However, regarding the government’s emergency disaster relief fund paid to the bottom 70% income bracket, Jeonnam Governor Kim Young-rok announced on the 6th that overlapping support is allowed, so households can expect to receive up to 1.5 million KRW per household.
The support amount is differentiated by the number of household members: 300,000 KRW for 1-2 person households, 400,000 KRW for 3-4 person households, and 500,000 KRW for households of 5 or more (one-time payment).
The support fund will be paid entirely in local currency (Hampyeong Sarang Gift Certificates) and is aimed to be used up by the end of August without a separate usage deadline.
Applications can be made by either the head of the household or any household member.
Applications can be submitted with identification, health insurance card (qualification certificate), and health insurance premium payment confirmation documents at each eup/myeon office or through the Hampyeong-gun website until the 29th of next month.
For other support-related matters, inquiries can be made to the local city/county or eup/myeon/dong offices of the applicant’s address.
