Forecast, Participation in Social Distancing through Remote Work Culture
[Asia Economy Reporter Haeyoung Kwon] The Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation announced on the 7th that it is actively responding to the intensified social distancing campaign extended for two weeks until the 19th by expanding the distance in the cafeteria and civil service office and improving the telecommuting environment.
First, the cafeteria, where many employees gather at once, operates on a four-shift system. Additional space is utilized as dining areas, and two dining tables are placed facing each other with a distance of more than 2 meters between them, while transparent acrylic partitions are installed in the middle to allow employees to dine facing each other. Transparent partitions were also installed at the first-floor information desk and civil service office to enable customer service while avoiding direct contact but still seeing faces.
An environment that allows efficient work during telecommuting has also been established. Support is provided to perform work in the same way as in the office by building a VPN web hard drive for telecommuting, developing a multi-video conferencing system in-house, and providing mini PCs.
Furthermore, to actively participate in the government's social distancing campaign, new images were created showing the KDIC promotional characters 'Yetneui and Yesomi' wearing masks and maintaining a 2-meter distance. These images are posted on the KDIC website as well as online promotional channels such as Facebook and Instagram to encourage public participation in social distancing.
