Naju-si, 96,898 Registered Voters for the 21st General Election
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yuk-bong] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 7th that the number of eligible voters for the 21st National Assembly election to be held on the 15th has been finalized at a total of 96,898 (including 7 voters with only proportional representation voting rights).
The number of eligible voters was finalized on the 3rd, 12 days before the election, in accordance with the Public Official Election Act, and notified to the Election Commission.
Due to population growth from the development of Bitgaram Innovation City and the expansion of voting rights to those aged 18 and over (born before April 16, 2002) starting from this 21st National Assembly election, the number of voters increased by 13,058 compared to the 20th National Assembly election four years ago (83,840 voters).
The ratio of eligible voters to the total population of 114,542 was 84.6%, with 48,590 males (50.1%) and 48,308 females (49.9%) surveyed.
The number of newly eligible 18-year-old voters in Naju City is 955.
Among the voters, there are 63 overseas Koreans registered residents, 415 absentee ballot registrants, and 10 shipboard ballot registrants.
Voters can participate in early voting on the 10th and 11th from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Early voting is possible anywhere nationwide at early voting stations without a separate registration procedure, provided an ID is presented.

A city official said, “We will do our best to alleviate voters’ concerns about COVID-19 and manage a safe voting environment through thorough disinfection of early voting stations and the 42 main polling stations,” adding, “We ask voters to wear masks and observe personal hygiene when visiting polling stations and to exercise their precious vote.”
