Gwangju Buk-gu Council Members Join Donations to Overcome the COVID-19 Crisis
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Members of the Buk-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City have joined the donation campaign to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Han Sangwon) announced on the 7th that 18 Buk-gu council members delivered a monthly allowance of 9 million won.
Attending the delivery ceremony were Go Jeomrye, Chairperson of the Buk-gu Council; Joo Sunil, Vice Chairperson; Kim Geonan, Chairperson of the Steering Committee; Ki Daeseo, Chairperson of the Safety City Committee; Lee Jeongcheol, Chairperson of the Administration and Autonomy Committee; and Lee Seongdo, Secretary General of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.
The donated funds will be used to support neighbors in need of care in the Gwangju area who are struggling due to COVID-19.
Chairperson Go Jeomrye said, "Although COVID-19 has prolonged and we are going through difficult and challenging times, I hope everyone stays strong," adding, "Buk-gu council members participated in this collective sharing with the hope of helping to overcome the COVID-19 crisis even a little."
