AhnLab Warns "Beware of Phishing Disguised as Explicit Videos of Specific Celebrities"
Phishing Disguised as Celebrity Obscene Videos Found on Online Cafes
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] AhnLab announced on the 7th that it recently discovered a phishing case in a popular portal's online cafe, disguised as an obscene video post of a specific celebrity to steal personal information.
The phishing attacker used previously stolen account information from a well-known domestic portal to create posts disguised as celebrity obscene videos in various online cafes.
When users click on the image in the post, they are redirected to a phishing site disguised as an 'obscene video player' pre-made by the attacker. Clicking the play button on the video player within the phishing site opens a fake login page resembling the portal site's login screen.
If users enter their portal ID and password, this account information is sent to the attacker. After entering the account information, users are automatically redirected to the legitimate portal site's video service page.
AhnLab advised the following to prevent such phishing damage: ▲ Do not execute URLs from posts with provocative titles and unclear sources ▲ Avoid visiting suspicious websites ▲ Use different IDs and passwords for each site ▲ Keep antivirus programs like V3 updated to the latest version.
