SK C&C Expands Cloud Service Support for SMEs, Ventures, and Startups
SK C&C Cloud Service Free Usage Up to 36 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] SK C&C has expanded its cloud service support for small and venture companies and startups.
On the 7th, SK C&C announced that it is continuously recruiting companies for the 2020 'Public-Private Cooperation Cloud Service Support Project' together with Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency. This year, the free usage limit of SK C&C's cloud service has been increased threefold compared to before.
Small and venture companies and startups located in Gyeonggi Province can use SK C&C's cloud services free of charge up to 36 million KRW. The total annual limit for the support project is 1.9 billion KRW. The support period is one year from the date of use. At the end of the period, it can be extended up to three years through an extension review evaluation by the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency.
Selected companies can conveniently use cloud services with the help of SK C&C and managed service providers (MSPs) even without professional digital technology capabilities and personnel. Free cloud expert training for about 60 people annually is also provided.
Eligibility for application requires that the business registration address or corporate research institute location be in Gyeonggi Province, and the company must be a startup within three years of establishment or a small business able to submit a certificate of small business. Newly founded companies can also apply. Final selection of supported companies is made through evaluation by the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency.
The public-private cooperation cloud service support project is recognized as a representative 4th Industrial Revolution innovation support project in Gyeonggi Province. In the first year of the support project, over 60 small and venture companies and startups from various industries such as gaming, manufacturing, IT, and education participated and achieved digital innovation results.
Game developer Soul Games is preparing to launch the mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) 'Luna M', produced with support from SK C&C's cloud service. By utilizing SK C&C's 'Cloud Z' high-performance dedicated physical server 'Bare Metal Server', they implemented an MMORPG game on mobile comparable to PC quality. They are also exploring entry into the Taiwanese and Thai markets.
