14 Han River Park Bicycle Rental Shops Suspend Operations Until the End of May
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 7th that it will temporarily suspend the operation of 14 bicycle rental shops within Hangang Park until May 31. This is to proceed with the selection of new operators to run the bicycle rental shops.
Currently, there are a total of 14 bicycle rental shops within Hangang Park, located in Gangseo, Yanghwa, Yeouido (3 locations), Banpo, Jamwon, Jamsil, Gwangnaru, Ttukseom (2 locations), Ichon, △Mangwon, and Nanji.
The bid announcement for selecting new operators of the bicycle rental shops is scheduled to be posted around mid-April on the Korea Asset Management Corporation's Onbid website (www.onbid.co.kr).
The city plans to promptly resume rental services as soon as new operators are selected to minimize inconvenience to citizens who wish to use the bicycle rental shops.
Additionally, during the service suspension period, the existing bicycles will be refurbished, and the 'Bicycle User Behavior Guidelines' to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) will be provided through the Hangang Project Headquarters website (hangang.seoul.go.kr).
