Line Games Acquires Developer 'Zero Games' for 32 Billion KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Line Games announced on the 3rd that it has acquired the game developer Zero Games and incorporated it as a 100% subsidiary.
This acquisition involved purchasing 100% of Zero Games' shares, with an acquisition cost of 32 billion KRW.
Zero Games, established last year, is a game developer that services the self-developed mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) "Chaos Mobile" through its subsidiary XN Games. Chaos Mobile is a game created using the intellectual property (IP) of "Chaos," an AOS game that gained great popularity as a Warcraft 3 user map in the early 2000s. It was released on February 26 and ranked 7th in Google Play revenue.

With this acquisition, Line Games expects to add MMORPGs to its existing lineup, enhancing genre diversity and strengthening its mobile game development capabilities. Kim Min-gyu, CEO of Line Games, said, "We look forward to multifaceted collaboration with Zero Games, which is making remarkable progress as a small and medium-sized game company." He added, "This acquisition will be an opportunity to further amplify the fun of games that Line Games pursues."
