Confirmed COVID-19 Case at Osan Air Base... 16th Case
[Asia Economy Reporter Yang Nak-gyu]The 16th confirmed case of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been reported among the United States Forces Korea (USFK).
The USFK Command announced on the 3rd, "Today, a positive COVID-19 case was confirmed at Osan Air Base," adding, "Epidemiological investigations and quarantine measures are underway."
There have been COVID-19 confirmed cases in the USFK for three consecutive days. On the 1st and 2nd, personnel stationed at Camp Humphreys (Pyeongtaek US military base) tested positive.

On the 25th of last month, the USFK declared a public health emergency as the likelihood of soldiers being exposed to COVID-19 increased. On February 19th, due to the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, the risk level was raised from 'Low' to 'Moderate.' On February 25th, the risk level for the entire Korean Peninsula was elevated to 'High,' and it remains at that level.
