Kim Jong-in: "Early Election Polls Are Not Directly Linked to the Election... Democratic Party Will Not Sweep Gyeonggi-do"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-in, the General Election Committee Chairman of the United Future Party, expressed confidence on the 2nd that "early election polls are not directly linked to the election" and that despite the United Future Party's disadvantage in the polls, they can still lead to victory.
On the 2nd, Chairman Kim said at the Gyeonggi region election countermeasures committee, "It is clear that early election polls are by no means directly connected to the election results."
He stated, "Many talk about what the various polls currently show, but I have that kind of confidence," adding, "Based on my experience in several elections, the voters' current perception of this government, and the election campaigns conducted by our candidates and the central party targeting the public over the remaining two weeks, will be reflected on April 15."
During a support rally for the Osan candidate, Chairman Kim also said in his greeting, "Looking at Gyeonggi Province, in the local elections two years ago, the Democratic Party almost swept the provincial council, so it seems people hope that such a result will not occur in this general election," but he added, "I absolutely do not think so."
