According to Realmeter's survey commissioned by tbs, conducted from March 30 to April 1 on the intention to vote in the proportional representation for the April 15 general election, the response indicating a vote for the Future Korea Party was recorded at 25.1%, down 2.3 percentage points from the previous week, the agency announced on the 2nd. The response indicating a vote for the Citizens' Party dropped by 9.0 percentage points to 20.8%.
The Future Korea Party saw declines in Daegu·Gyeongbuk (35.5%→27.4%), Busan·Ulsan·Gyeongnam (39.8%→32.1%), Daejeon·Sejong·Chungcheong (30.4%→25.9%), age groups 60 and above (36.9%→30.4%) and 50s (28.6%→23.0%), 40s (24.0%→18.7%), and conservative voters (56.1%→51.6%).
The Citizens' Party experienced double-digit declines in Gwangju·Jeolla (43.4%→28.5%), Gyeonggi·Incheon (34.0%→19.7%), 30s (36.8%→22.7%) and 20s (28.9%→15.4%), and progressive voters (46.9%→34.5%). It also fell in Daegu·Gyeongbuk (23.2%→15.3%), 40s (33.2%→25.3%), and moderate voters (25.4%→20.4%).
The sharp decline of the Citizens' Party is analyzed to be due to its support base shifting to the Open Democratic Party and the Justice Party. In fact, the Open Democratic Party recorded 14.3%, up 2.6 percentage points from the previous week, and the Justice Party rebounded by 2.3 percentage points to 8.2%.
There is also analysis that the Open Democratic Party's recent emphasis on clarity in issues such as the 'Democratic Party legitimacy debate' with the Citizens' Party and prosecution reform influenced this shift.
Additionally, the Party of People's Party recorded 5.1%, up 0.8 percentage points from the previous week; the Minsheng Party rose 0.7 percentage points to 2.9%; the Our Republican Party remained the same at 2.0%; and the Pro-Park New Party fell 0.5 percentage points to 1.8%.
