View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea approached 10,000 on the 2nd.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on that day, the number of confirmed domestic cases increased by 89 from the previous day to 9,976.
Among them, 18 cases were identified during quarantine. Additional cases in the Seoul metropolitan area and Daegu-Gyeongbuk regions were 35 and 23, respectively.
By region, Daegu had the highest number with 21 cases, followed by Gyeonggi (17), Seoul (14), Gyeongnam (6), Incheon (4), Gyeongbuk (2), Chungnam (2), Jeonnam (2), Gangwon (1), Gwangju (1), and Ulsan (1).
