Daegu Court Normalized, Struggling to Establish Quarantine Measures
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The Daegu Court, which had only handled urgent criminal cases due to concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), has resumed normal operations. However, it is making every effort to prevent the spread by reducing the number and duration of all trial dates to minimize face-to-face contact opportunities.
On the 2nd, the Daegu Court announced that for cases involving many people, such as auctions, summary trials, personal rehabilitation, and bankruptcy, it will expand non-attendance proceedings and control courtroom entry and waiting situations.
In particular, in real estate auction courtrooms, seating will be limited to 20% usage to ensure a distance of more than 2 meters between individuals, and some participants will join the bidding outside the courtroom via monitors and speakers.
Additionally, summary trial cases will be handled with staggered summons by police station as a principle, minimizing the daily number of cases to 5-6.
