US Patriot Missile Deployment Rumors in Iraq... Iran Issues "Stern Warning"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim On-yu] Iran has issued a strong warning to the United States following reports that the U.S. deployed Patriot air defense missiles in Iraq.
On the 1st, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement saying, "The United States deployed Patriot missiles against the will of the Iraqi government, parliament, and people," and criticized, "Instead of fighting the coronavirus, such belligerent behavior must stop, and the U.S. should withdraw from Iraq."
The previous day, Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard Corps also warned, "If a malicious and reckless enemy makes even the slightest mistake against Iran, it will be the last mistake," adding, "Our response will be so destructive and resolute that the enemy will not even have time to regret it."
Earlier, AFP reported on the 30th of last month that the U.S. deployed Patriot missiles at Iraqi military bases to protect U.S. troops stationed in Iraq.

The agency stated that the U.S. military deployed one battery of Patriot missiles each at the Ain al-Asad base west of Baghdad and in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdish autonomous region in northern Iraq, in late last month.
