[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The Private School Teachers' Pension Service announced on the 1st that Joo Myung-hyun, former Director General of the Planning and Coordination Office at the Ministry of Education, has been appointed as the 19th Chairman.
New Chairman Joo Myung-hyun completed a master's degree at Dankook University and doctoral coursework at Soongsil University Graduate School. He has served as Deputy Superintendent of Sejong Special Self-Governing City Office of Education, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Deputy Superintendent of Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education, and Director General of the Planning and Coordination Office at the Ministry of Education.

As of the end of 2019, its total assets amounted to 21.4495 trillion KRW, achieving the highest fund management return rate in 10 years at 11.15%.
