During the extraordinary meeting, the county council operated the session by disinfecting the government building and conducting temperature checks for entrants to prevent the spread of COVID-19, while minimizing the attendance of executive officials to practice social distancing.
In this first session of the year, the council processed 21 ordinances including the 2020 1st supplementary revised revenue and expenditure budget, approval of the administrative affairs investigation plan, the Muan County Child and Youth Friendly City Establishment Ordinance, and the 2020 occasional shared property management plan.
Among these, regarding the 2020 1st supplementary revised budget, the council improved the efficiency and appropriateness of budget allocation by cutting about 100 million won from the expenditure budget of approximately 98.1 billion won submitted by the executive branch, due to excessive project costs and re-examination of project feasibility. Accordingly, the revised supplementary budget was approved at 617 billion won, an increase of 18.9% compared to the original budget of 519 billion won.
Chairman Lee Jung-woon, in his closing remarks, stated, “Recently, confirmed COVID-19 cases have occurred in our county, making the concern of community spread a reality,” and urged, “Until COVID-19 is eradicated, all residents should thoroughly practice social distancing and personal hygiene management.”
