Busan Gijang-gun Operates Food Trucks at County Office to Support Small Business Owners
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Busan Gijang-gun announced that it will operate a food truck temporarily within the Gijang-gun Office until the end of April to help small business owners in the region who are struggling due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This food truck operation replaces the cafeteria, which is closed due to the impact of COVID-19, offering lunchbox menus such as Korean beef tenderloin steak fried rice and Korean beef brisket fried rice, providing employees with a hearty lunch, and giving strength and encouragement to food truck operators who are having difficulties as they cannot obtain small business loan support.
Kim Hojin, head of the Food Truck Business Headquarters, said, "Since the outbreak of COVID-19, all events have been canceled one after another, and I earned 20,000 won in the past month." He added, "Many people think of most food trucks as youth startups, but in reality, the majority of us operate them as a means of livelihood, so in situations like these, just getting through each day is really tough."
Kim said, "Currently, most food truck operators are facing difficulties, and I am grateful to the officials for the generous decision by Gijang-gun Office to provide an opportunity to operate."
