Mapo-gu to Provide Up to 1 Million KRW in Closure Support Funds for PC Rooms and Karaoke Bars
514 Locations Including PC Bangs, Karaoke Rooms, Fitness Centers, Sports Dojos, and Clubs... Applications Accepted from April 1 to 3 via District Office Departments, Fax, and Email
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) will provide up to 1 million KRW in closure support funds to multi-use facility businesses such as PC rooms, karaoke rooms, and fitness clubs that voluntarily suspended operations to participate in 'social distancing' measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
This measure was prepared by the district to encourage voluntary closure of private multi-use facilities and to contribute to the livelihood stability of business owners participating in the closure of multi-use facilities suffering from the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The support targets a total of 514 locations registered, permitted, or reported in Mapo-gu as of March 31: ▲67 PC rooms ▲218 karaoke rooms ▲100 fitness centers ▲85 sports dojangs ▲44 clubs.
The closure support fund will be paid to businesses that start closure during the application period (April 1 to April 3) and maintain it continuously for at least 5 days, with support ranging from a minimum of 500,000 KRW to a maximum of 1 million KRW for closures of 10 days or more.
Applications for the closure support fund can be submitted by visiting the relevant department at Mapo-gu Office in person with the application form, business registration certificate or business license copy, and bankbook copy by April 3, or by sending them via fax or email. The district plans to conduct unannounced on-site inspections of participating businesses, and any business found operating even for one day during the closure period will be excluded from support.
For other inquiries regarding the closure support fund, contact the Culture and Arts Division for karaoke rooms and PC rooms, the Sports for All Division for fitness centers and sports dojangs, and the Hygiene Division for clubs.
