[Photo] Gangbuk-gu Installs Dog Leash Holders at Solsaem Children's Park and Others
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) has pilot-installed 'pet leash holders' in parks and other places used by residents and their pets.
The district first installed the holders in places frequently used by residents and children, such as Solsaem Children's Park and Ui-dong Meeting Square.
The project was prompted by a recent incident in a park where a dog behaved aggressively toward a child while its owner briefly went to the restroom, causing the child to burst into tears.
Going forward, the district plans to expand the operation to areas with high demand, such as parks, walking trails, and village squares, based on resident satisfaction.

Park Gyeom-su, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "Pets are becoming companions in life, but conflicts related to them are continuously increasing. We hope that the leash holders will raise community awareness of owners' social responsibility and serve as a good example of people and animals living together harmoniously."
