Lee Dong-myeon Appointed President of BC Card: "Let's Create BC's Own Path Leading Change"
Starting Work Immediately Without Inauguration
Management Policy Focused on Strengthening Core Competitiveness, Discovering New Businesses, and Enhancing Digital Capabilities
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Lee Dong-myeon, President of BC Card, officially took office and emphasized, "Let's create a 'BC-only path' that leads change."
BC Card announced on the 25th that Lee Dong-myeon officially assumed the presidency through a shareholders' meeting held at the Seoul Eulji Twin Tower headquarters. President Lee began his duties without a separate inauguration ceremony and outlined three key management policies: ▲strengthening core business competitiveness ▲actively discovering new businesses ▲enhancing digital capabilities.
President Lee stated, "We must become number one in the processing field based on industry-leading quality, cost efficiency, and trust," urging the enhancement of capabilities. This means being agile enough to efficiently support client companies (payment operators) who meet customers on the front lines.
Regarding new businesses, he called for expanding global operations and strengthening marketing platforms. Previously, BC Card became the first in the domestic financial sector to export payment technology to Indonesia. Subsequently, in Vietnam, it is promoting global projects such as establishing a cashless society infrastructure and transferring knowledge of digital payment platforms. Strengthening the marketing platform means advancing it so that customers and merchants can tangibly experience benefits through services like Paybook.
On digital capabilities, President Lee emphasized, "Big data and artificial intelligence (AI) are very important areas for moving toward a 'Smart BC,' and the company must focus its capabilities on these."
BC Card possesses big data analysis capabilities across various sectors such as finance, government agencies, distribution, and commercial districts, enabling data-driven customized customer services, marketing initiatives, and product development. Going forward, the company plans to actively utilize AI to strengthen its competitiveness in the digital field.
