Suwon City Provides 1 Million Won Compensation Each to 33 Small Business Owners Affected by COVID-19 Movement Disclosure
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province provided special consolation payments to small business owners in the area who suffered losses due to the disclosure of COVID-19 confirmed patients' movement paths.
On the 25th, Suwon City announced that it paid a total of 33 million KRW, 1 million KRW each, to 33 locations including 'Haeundae Gukbap' (Haenggung-ro, Paldal-gu), which had closed their stores due to visits by confirmed patients.
The city used 110 million KRW in designated donations received on the 10th from the Far East Broadcasting Foundation (100 million KRW) and the Central Shin Gyeonggi Movement Association (10 million KRW) to support small business owners and vulnerable groups struggling due to the COVID-19 crisis as the funding source for the support payments.
The first round of support targeted 33 out of 35 small business operators who applied for assistance among those affected by visits from confirmed patients. The consolation payments will continue until the donated funds are exhausted.
