Russia's COVID-19 Cases Rise to 306... Rapidly Increasing Trend
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Russia increased to 306 on the 21st (local time).
According to TASS News Agency and others, Russia's government "COVID-19 Inflow and Spread Prevention Headquarters" announced on the day, "53 new confirmed cases were reported in 18 regions nationwide over the past day."
As a result, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Russia rose from 253 the previous day to 306.
The headquarters confirmed that all additional confirmed cases had visited COVID-19 outbreak countries within the last two weeks, and stated that all patients are receiving inpatient treatment in isolation facilities.
The headquarters also added that 4 people recovered and were discharged over the past day, increasing the total number of recovered patients to 16.
In addition, Interfax News Agency reported that as of the 20th, 36,540 people are under medical observation related to COVID-19.
The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Russia is rapidly increasing as Russians who visited the European region, which has become the new epicenter of the epidemic, return infected and transmit the virus to close family members and relatives.
